BLACK MAIDENS LAND IN CASABLANCA WITH A GROUP THAT INCLUDES BRAZIL, NORWAY AND CANADA

The Black Maidens touched down in Morocco on Monday ahead of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup. The Ghana Football Association said the party is 21 players and 14 officials, based in Casablanca for a two-week camp. Ghana open Group C against Norway on 18 October, then play Brazil on 21 October and Canada on 24 October. They qualified in July after beating Senegal on penalties.
Ghana’s under-17 women’s team has arrived in Morocco for the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, with a camp in Casablanca and a group that offers no easy match.
The Ghana Football Association said on Monday, 5 October, that the Black Maidens had landed with 21 players and 14 officials. The squad will be based in Casablanca for a two-week training camp. The association said the aim is full preparation before the tournament, and that the team would face China in a friendly dated Sunday, 5 October. That date sits on the same day as the arrival notice. The GFA had not posted a kickoff time or a result by the time of this report.
The World Cup itself is in Rabat, not Casablanca. It runs from 17 October to 7 November and is the second edition under FIFA’s expanded field of 24 teams. Morocco is hosting five straight editions, from 2025 through 2029. All of this year’s matches are at the Women’s Football Complex in Rabat. Korea DPR are the defending champions.
Ghana are in Group C with Canada, Brazil and Norway. The fixture list puts Norway against Ghana on Sunday, 18 October, Ghana against Brazil on Wednesday, 21 October, and Ghana against Canada on Saturday, 24 October. The top two in the group go through. Canada Soccer has already named a 21-player squad for the same group and will gather in Rabat on 7 October.
The ticket was won at home. In July the Black Maidens beat Senegal 7-6 on penalties at the Accra Sports Stadium after the tie finished 2-2 on aggregate. Both legs ended 1-1. Senegal scored in the 25th minute of the second leg. Captain Seidatu Wahab equalised in the 44th. Ghana converted seven kicks. It is the country’s seventh appearance at the finals.
The GFA has not published the final World Cup squad in the arrival note, and it has not named the coach in that statement. What it has confirmed is the landing, the size of the party, and the Casablanca base. The first competitive test is Norway in Rabat on 18 October.
