POLO BEACH CLUB DEMOLISHED AS LA BEACH CLEARANCE EXPANDS
Polo Beach Club, a well known entertainment venue near Labadi Beach Resort in Accra, has been demolished as authorities expand an ongoing clearance exercise across parts of the La Beach area. The operation on Friday, October 2, involved personnel from the 48 Engineer Regiment of the Ghana Armed Forces and the Ghana Police Service. Workers and residents said security personnel arrived at about 4 a.m. and ordered people to leave the area before heavy equipment began pulling down structures. The demolition of Polo Beach Club marks a significant escalation from the earlier clearance of La Pleasure Beach and comes amid an unresolved land ownership dispute and objections from La Dadekotopon MP Rita Naa Odoley Sowah.
