WORLD CUP VISA CONTROVERSY WIDENS AS GTA BOARD LIST ALLEGATIONS TRIGGER FRESH SCRUTINY
Ghana’s World Cup visa controversy has widened after Minority MP Vincent Ekow Assafuah alleged that more than 30 people were represented to the US Embassy as GTA board members or affiliates despite the Authority having a much smaller board. The allegation follows earlier claims involving media lists, NSA staff designations and large payments allegedly connected to World Cup travel arrangements. The GTA denies collecting money for visas and says its programme was approved, legitimate and broader than traditional media participation.
