GES CANCELS NOVEMBER MID-TERM BREAK FOR BASIC SCHOOLS TO RECOVER LOST TEACHING TIME
The Ghana Education Service has cancelled the mid-term break scheduled for November 5 and 6, 2026, for basic schools nationwide. Schools must open and conduct normal academic activities on both days to recover instructional time lost during a nearly two-week teachers’ strike that began on September 25 and was suspended on October 9. The notice, signed by Daniel Fenyi of GES Headquarters, asks teachers, pupils, parents and guardians to note the change. The rest of the 2026/2027 academic calendar remains unchanged.
