TWO FORMER SENIOR FBI OFFICIALS CHARGED WITH LYING TO CONGRESS OVER HUNTER BIDEN INVESTIGATIONS
The U.S. Justice Department has charged former senior FBI officials Nikki Floris and Bradley Benavides with allegedly making false statements to Congress in 2023 about the Foreign Influence Task Force’s involvement in investigations concerning Hunter Biden and his laptop. Prosecutors say internal FBI communications and witness testimony contradict the officials’ congressional statements. Floris’ lawyers call the charges politically motivated, while Benavides has not been convicted of any offense. Both men remain presumed innocent, and prosecutors must still advance the case through the federal court process.
