CHINA CUTS OCTOBER FUEL EXPORTS AND ASIA IS LEFT ASKING WHETHER INDIA CAN PLUG THE HOLE
Four sources told Reuters that Chinese refiners have not been cleared to export diesel, petrol and jet fuel in October beyond Hong Kong and Macau. PetroChina cancelled planned gasoline and jet shipments. Kpler says diesel stocks are about 20 million barrels below the pre-war level Beijing wants. A 5 October Reuters analysis says India, with 23 refineries processing about 5.6 million barrels a day, is the likeliest replacement, though its own fuel exports are down about 23 percent this year.
