Bayelsa Governor Douye Diri has imposed an immediate 24-hour curfew on Biseni community in Yenagoa LGA after protests over electricity, poor roads, environmental concerns and oil-company obligations escalated into road blockades, bonfires and reported arson against traditional chiefs’ properties. Security forces have been ordered to restore order, but the unrest follows months of unresolved tensions involving petroleum operations, community-development funds and infrastructure.
