Tuesday's PowerBall draw came and went, and while the big prize stayed unclaimed, one player walked away with a serious payday.
Tuesday’s PowerBall draw has come and gone, and once again nobody walked away with the main jackpot.
The R27 million prize rolled over for the fifth time, meaning it now heads into Friday’s draw at an estimated R36 million.
No player matched all five numbers plus the PowerBall in the main draw.
Meanwhile, one player successfully claimed the PowerBall Xtra jackpot.
The PowerBall numbers drawn on Tuesday, 8 September were 04, 08, 13, 37 and 49, with a PowerBall number of 07.
For PowerBall Xtra, meanwhile, the numbers were 14, 18, 33, 49 and 50, with a PowerBall Xtra number of 02.
Meanwhile, one player matched all five PowerBall Xtra numbers plus the PowerBall Xtra to claim that division’s top prize.
The PowerBall Xtra jackpot heading into Tuesday’s draw was estimated at R4 million.
However, the final confirmed payout can differ slightly depending on total ticket sales for that specific draw. As a result, this only gets settled once the operator reconciles the numbers.
With the main jackpot still unclaimed, it now rolls into Friday’s draw at an estimated R36 million.
That marks the fifth consecutive rollover for this jackpot. Anyone holding a matching PowerBall Xtra ticket from Tuesday night should keep it safe.
They’re urged to follow the official National Lottery prize-claim process to verify and claim their winnings.
I always find it fascinating how one draw can produce two completely different outcomes, a jackpot still sitting untouched, and somewhere out there, a life that’s just changed completely on the Xtra side, hey.
