The strawberry-picking season is officially upon Muldersdrift, as The Cradle Berry Farm announces entrance fees for visitors ready to indulge.
The beloved Cradle Berry Farm in Muldersdrift, Johannesburg, officially reopened on 5 September 2026, after closing in December 2025.
Depending on the weather conditions, the farm will remain open until December 2026, giving visitors ample time to plan a sweet escape to the farm.
The farm operates between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays. The entrance fee is R100 for adults, R70 for kids, plus R100 per kg for takeaway berries.
However, there’s more to this farm than just picking and munching on fresh strawberries. Visitors can also host special events such as weddings and parties, or enjoy a picnic experience where they can either bring their own food or order delicious meals from the in-house café, J-Mo’s.
Homemade juices, preserves, and small batches of jam are also available at the farm, made with only natural ingredients.
Due to the rain and cold weather on 6 September, visitors are advised to wear raincoats and boots, and to bring umbrellas, which are essential for strawberry picking in the fields.
The exciting opening weekend also includes the “Funky Hat Competition,” where visitors can wear their “craziest hats” or even create one right at the farm. The “wildest creation” will walk away with a fresh strawberry hamper.
