The 78th Emmy Awards delivered a big night for The Pitt and Widow’s Bay, with some of television’s biggest stars and productions taking home major honours in Los Angeles on Monday.

Apple TV’s Widow’s Bay emerged as the biggest overall winner with 14 awards, including Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for Matthew Rhys.

The Pitt collected seven awards, including Outstanding Drama Series, while Noah Wyle won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his performance in the HBO Max production.

DTF St. Louis also finished the awards season showcase with seven wins, including Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series, while Pluribus secured six awards.

Matthew Rhys was one of the night’s standout individual performers, winning two major acting awards. In addition to his comedy victory for Widow’s Bay, he was named Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series for The Beast in Me.

WIDOW’S BAY DOMINATES THE NIGHT

Widow’s Bay was the standout production of the ceremony, finishing with 14 awards.

Its victories included Outstanding Comedy Series as well as acting honours for Matthew Rhys, Stephen Root and Kate O’Flynn.

The Pitt also enjoyed a strong night, securing seven awards and taking the coveted Outstanding Drama Series prize.

Noah Wyle added to the show's success with his victory in the lead drama actor category.

DTF St. Louis matched The Pitt with seven awards, while Pluribus collected six, including Rhea Seehorn's victory as Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series and Vince Gilligan's writing award.

The results capped the 78th Emmy Awards with Apple TV productions among the night's strongest performers.
