ECG SAYS WORKS ARE NEEDED TO IMPROVE RELIABILITY
ECG says the planned shutdowns will allow its engineers to carry out maintenance and network improvements.
The company says the objective is to reduce faults and improve service reliability.
Similar maintenance exercises have been carried out across several regions in recent months.
BUSINESSES ADVISED TO PLAN AHEAD
The outages will affect homes, shops, offices and other businesses during normal working hours.
Companies that depend heavily on electricity may need backup power arrangements.
Residents are also advised to charge essential devices ahead of the scheduled interruptions.
NOT A NATIONAL LOAD SHEDDING SCHEDULE
The announced outages are planned maintenance interruptions affecting specific communities.
They should not be interpreted as a nationwide load shedding program.
ECG says power should be restored after the scheduled work is completed in each affected area.
WHAT IS CONFIRMED
The outages begin Monday, October 5.
They continue through Thursday, October 8.
Accra East and Tema are the main operational areas affected.
Most Accra East outages run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Most Tema outages listed for October 6 to 8 run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
WHAT RESIDENTS SHOULD DO
Customers in the listed communities should prepare for temporary interruptions.
Sensitive electrical equipment should be switched off where necessary.
Businesses may also need to prepare backup power for essential operations.
ECG has apologized for the inconvenience expected during the maintenance exercise.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
The utility is expected to restore supply after work is completed each day.
Additional notices may be issued if maintenance schedules change or new faults develop.
Residents can also monitor ECG’s official channels for updates affecting their specific communities.
