DJ CUPPY CONSIDERS LEAVING SOCIAL MEDIA FOR A QUIETER LIFE IN THE COUNTRYSIDE

Nigerian disc jockey and singer DJ Cuppy has suggested she may step away from social media and trade her highly public online presence for a quieter life in the countryside.

Cuppy, whose real name is Florence Otedola, shared the thought with her followers on Tuesday, saying she was still considering deleting social media, relocating to the countryside and buying three goats.

“Just still thinking about deleting social media, moving to the countryside and buying 3 goats. Nothing major,” she wrote on X.

The lighthearted post quickly attracted attention, in part because of the contrast between the secluded lifestyle she described and the public profile she has maintained for years.

Cuppy did not say she had made a final decision to leave social media or that plans for a move were underway.

The 33-year-old entertainer has built an audience of millions across major social media platforms, where she regularly shares updates about her music, travels, faith and personal life.

Her latest comments, however, are not the first time she has expressed a desire to temporarily withdraw from the constant visibility that comes with that audience.

In January, Cuppy announced that she was taking a break from social media as she began a 21-day fast, saying she wanted time to reset and reconnect with herself and her faith.

She returned to social media the following month.

Cuppy's latest post has since prompted reactions from followers, with some encouraging her to remain online and others responding humorously to her vision of countryside life with three goats.

For now, the idea remains just that.

Cuppy has given no indication that she has deleted any of her major accounts or set a timetable for leaving social media.

But her comments have again drawn attention to the pressures of maintaining a highly visible public life online and her apparent interest in occasionally stepping away from it.
