THAILAND INVESTIGATES CLINIC AFTER NIGERIAN INFLUENCER DIES FOLLOWING PENIS ENLARGEMENT PROCEDURE

Thai health authorities have launched an investigation into a Bangkok cosmetic clinic following the death of Nigerian influencer and businessman Igho “Tiny” Ubiribo after a penis enlargement procedure.
Ubiribo, 43, a Nigerian content creator who lived in London, died on March 6, 2026, less than a day after receiving hyaluronic acid filler injections at the clinic.
Details surrounding his death have now received renewed attention following findings from a London coroner's inquest and an investigation by Thailand's Ministry of Public Health.
CLINIC SAYS HE HAD RECEIVED FIVE PREVIOUS TREATMENTS
According to information released following an inspection by Thai health authorities, the clinic said Ubiribo had been receiving treatments there since 2024 and had undergone the enlargement injections on five occasions.
The clinic's management said Ubiribo had signed consent documents and received aftercare instructions during his treatments.
Before his final procedure on March 5, the clinic claims a doctor advised him to divide the treatment into two sessions.
According to the clinic, Ubiribo instead requested that the entire treatment be completed during one session.
These statements represent the clinic's account and are now part of the investigation being conducted by Thai authorities.
CHEST PAIN AFTER PROCEDURE
Following the procedure, Ubiribo reportedly began experiencing chest pain and later collapsed.
He was transported to hospital, where doctors planned to conduct further examinations, including a CT scan.
His condition deteriorated before the scan could be performed.
Medical personnel attempted to resuscitate him for approximately 101 minutes, but he was pronounced dead at 1.05 AM on March 6.
CORONER LINKS DEATH TO COSMETIC INJECTION
Evidence presented during a London coroner's inquest concluded that Ubiribo died from a pulmonary embolism associated with the cosmetic procedure.
A pulmonary embolism occurs when blood flow through an artery in the lungs becomes blocked.
Post mortem findings reportedly identified material in Ubiribo's lungs consistent with the hyaluronic acid used during the procedure.
The coroner concluded that the cosmetic injection caused the fatal pulmonary embolism.
THAI GOVERNMENT ORDERS INVESTIGATION
Thailand's Ministry of Public Health ordered authorities to inspect the Bangkok clinic on September 7 following international reporting about Ubiribo's death.
Officials are examining whether the facility complied with relevant medical standards and regulations.
The matter is also being reviewed to determine whether professional medical standards were followed during the treatment.
The investigation does not itself establish wrongdoing by the clinic or medical personnel.
The clinic maintains that Ubiribo had undergone previous treatments without reporting complications and that he was informed about the procedure and aftercare requirements.
Thai authorities are continuing their investigation.
