Multiple Award-winning Ghanaian rapper, Sarkodie, speaking on the 7th edition of the mentorship program LEAD SERIES disclosed that ‘90% of the production was done by record producer, singer, songwriter and entrepreneur, Jayo’’
Sarkodie pointed out that it took him two years to put together the fourth studio album “The Highest” which was released on September 8, 2017.
The ‘Highest’ album has 15 brand new songs, three interludes, and a bonus track, making 19 tracks in total.
When asked how difficult it was for him in selecting songs for ‘The Highest’, he said ‘it wasn’t as hard as compared to Rapperholic and Sarkology because I recorded those two albums with lots of producers and I had to choose which one I was going to go with’’
However with ‘The Highest’ album, it was planned with Jayso. ‘90% of the production was done by him. So it was very easy’’ he added.
He further explained that, ‘‘if you know Jayso, he wouldn’t send you five beat at ones. He will send you bit by bit. So I didn’t have too much to play with and go like am gonna sieve it’’.
‘‘I think the number of songs we took out of the album were like four or five songs which were meant for the album. But I definitely have lot of tracks that didn’t fit the theme and sound for the highest album. So for the highest album we had just three of four songs that we dropped’’
